A 940-pound tuna fished by the head of the Gîte du Mont-Albert
The head of the Gîte du Mont-Albert, Jean-Alexandre Dubé, caught in the night from Tuesday to Wednesday a tuna of an exceptional size, 940 pounds, off the Gaspé coast. It is the largest tuna caught this year in Gaspésie.
Neophyte in this type of fishing, Chief Dubé was particularly impressed by two aspects of his outing at sea: the speed with which his fish once bit the baits thrown at sea and the fight to raise his gigantic tuna.
“Once at the fishing spot , it did not take 10 minutes. The boat was daubed with water and a first tuna bit in five minutes, but it was lost. We put the line back in the water and it bit right after. There, he was well hooked. In total, it was longer to go to the fishing spot than to bite the tuna. I fell down, “says Jean-Alexandre Dubé.
