A fourth priest ordained in 2019
The year 2019 was exceptional in the number of ordinations of new priests in the Estrie region. A fourth priest will be ordained on the territory of the Archdiocese of Sherbrooke this year.
The ouis Philippe Provost, 35 years old, hold office in the area of Asbestos where it is already established for the training period. His appointment will conclude a long journey to the priesthood.
First priest ordained in six years

It was at the age of 23 that Louis-Philippe Provost chose to turn to the priesthood, following a remarkable experience lived with the Marie-Jeunesse Family. Following his studies at the Grand Seminary in Montreal, Louis-Philippe Provost completed a one-year internship at East Angus. He then spent a year at the Montreal FM Band, a school of faith and mission. This experience will have inspired him to master his subject.
Before him, three other priests were ordained in 2019 on the territory of the Archdiocese of Sherbrooke. Father Francis Morency and Father Patrick Flageole were ordained in June, followed by Father Jean-François Pouliot, who was ordained last October.
With this new presbyteral ordination, the Archdiocese of Sherbrooke will have 115 priests.
Before this year, the last priests to join the Archdiocese of Sherbrooke were ordained in 2013. At that time, four priests had also been ordained.
