A 21-year-old Magog was arrested on Sunday for being too insistent on his ex-wife by flooding him with text messages.

At 11:25 am, officers from the Memphremagog Police Authority (MPR) responded to a complaint of criminal harassment, break and enter, theft and threats and breach of probation.

“The complainant is a young woman who complained to her former lover who could send him several hundred text messages and calls a day,” said Sylvain Guay, a lieutenant at the RPM.

“The suspect was arrested in Magog by the patrol boats and detained for his appearance Monday at the Sherbrooke courthouse.”

The RĂ©gie encourages anyone harassed to file a complaint with the police, because all too often there is only the intervention of justice to stop this type of offense, Guay adds.
