The Lévis police are looking for a suspect who tried to steal the cash drawer of a Subway restaurant on Saturday night.

On Saturday, around 6:00 pm, 9-1-1 emergency service received a call from parents worried about a man’s actions towards their children, an incident that would have happened outside, a little earlier .

Officers from the Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ) then went to the scene and arrested a 73-year-old man who also resides in the Courville area.

It seems that this man, who is not known to children, “would have had a suspicious behavior with them,” says SPVQ spokesman David Poitras.

The man was later met by the investigators and released without charge.

The investigation continues in the case, and for now, it is unclear how many children were involved in the event as well as their age. It is also unknown whether or not the man is known to the police.

“The current investigation aims to determine whether there is a criminal incident related to this event,” concludes the SPVQ spokesperson.
