Construction site of the mega-hospital at the Enfant-Jesus: $ 700,000 per day
The construction of the new $ 2 billion hospital complex will expand from winter as Phase 2 of the project begins.
At present, the Quebec Society infrastructure “disburses” between $ 600,000 and $ 700,000 each day, launched Robert Topping, general manager for the project office, during a press tour organized Tuesday. “We are going to nearly 400 workers on the site.” But at the height of activity, in about a year, around 1,000 workers will activate.
Phase 1 is completed at 60%, estimates Mr. Topping. The power plant, the integrated cancer center and parking are therefore advanced, have seen the journalists.
During the second phase, the Quebec University Hospital Center (CHU de Québec) intends to erect the buildings for critical care, operating theaters, medical imaging rooms, the research center … The first calls for Offers should be published as early as next week, notes Topping. “This work will begin normally in January 2020.”
For now, the costs would be contained. “We respect the budget, we respect deadlines,” says Topping.
The new hospital complex will combine the activities of the pavilions of the Hôtel-Dieu and the Enfant-Jésus.
The specialties of oncology, burn victims, neuroscience, trauma and nephrology will be grouped together, explains Luc Gagnon clinical director for the NCH at the CHU de Québec.
