Quebec police arrested a man on Monday morning suspected of stealing a car that had fled after hitting two autopatrollees.
By 5:00 am, patrol officers from the Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ) located a stolen vehicle in the Estimauville area.
They attempted to intercept the driver of the vehicle on the Laurentian Highway, at the intersection of Jean Talon Boulevard West, but the driver refused to stop.
A collision then took place between the suspect vehicle and two patrol cars. A policewoman was slightly injured.
The suspect escaped. His vehicle was found a few minutes later on the grounds of the Ecocentre of Charlesbourg, located on Boulevard Jean -Talon West. But nobody was on board.
Several police officers and police officers from the Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ) raked the area to try and find her.
Then, around 9:15, a citizen contacted 911 to report the presence of an individual on his land on Montrachet Street.
The individual matched the description of the suspect sought. He was arrested for armed assault, flight and concealment.
The 29-year-old remains for the moment detained. He could appear Tuesday at the courthouse in Quebec City.
