Theft and ransacking in an Airbnb: damage not yet evaluated
The total amount of thefts and damages caused in a Sherbrooke condo by two passing tenants must be evaluated before they determine the orientation of their files.
A Lyson Jalbert-Lamoureux and Carolane Mallet, aged 21, are accused of having ransacked and stole the condo they had rented on Airbnb sharing platform.
Charges of a theft of more than $ 5,000 and stolen property in a Triest Street condo they had reserved between January 4 and 6, 2019 are being laid against the two women in Granby.
“It’s a question of repayment. This is the option that will be preferred. An assessment of the damage is coming. The complainant was required to provide the information. Several goods were stolen. The case will be back in court on January 9th.
When she went to her apartment, the owner noticed that a window was wide open in the middle of January. The door was unlocked and several items were missing. She kept aesthetic equipment in her home. She found that the two tenants of passage had used and had drawn in all her valuables from clothing, handbags and electronic devices.
According to the Sherbrooke Police Service, the amount of the flight is more than $ 10,000.

This is an investigation of the SPS which allowed to go up to the two defendants.
The owner of the condo claims to have been compensated by Airbnb for the damages suffered.
In an e-mail exchange with The Tribune, Airbnb recalled that responsible sharing was essential and that negative incidents were incredibly rare.
